Dear Meadow Springs Church Family:
As promised yesterday, here is the update regarding our plans in light of the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation. Since our last announcement, the World Health Organization has classified COVID-19 as a pandemic and Governor Brown has provided clear direction to organizations in Oregon that host gatherings. We want to align with the new public health guidelines because we care for our community and want to do our part in limiting the spread of the coronavirus in our area. The changes that we are making are motivated by love, not fear.
What You Need to Know
· Starting now, all Meadow Springs Community Church gatherings, including Sunday service, Growth Groups, Men’s, Women’s, Youth and Children’s ministries, are suspended through Tuesday, March 31. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you on any further cancellations beyond this point.
· We will continue to send our usual Meadow Springs Adventure Updates on a weekly basis, including any COVID-19 updates.
· The coronavirus will not stop us from worshipping or proclaiming the Word of God! We will just need to do these in different ways. There will be no church service this Sunday (March 15); however, we will be working to provide an online streaming service, including teaching and worship for the following Sundays, March 22 and 29. Stay tuned for more information on this.
· For the present, the MSCC church office will keep normal hours.
This is new territory for all of us. Fear, anxiety, sorrow, worry, uncertainty are all very normal responses. As challenging as it is, this presents us with an opportunity to trust God in new ways, and to see Christ as our refuge even when we don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. It also gives us an opportunity to demonstrate our faith by choosing to live generously in an atmosphere of fear and self-preservation.
As your church leaders, we are committed to “inviting all people to experience the depth of God’s love” as we navigate this adventure together. We will do our best to keep you updated. Please join us in continuing to pray for our church, our community, and all those who have been impacted by the coronavirus.
Under His Mercy,
Gene,
for the elders and leadership--
