Wycliffe Bible Translators - Kandern, Germany
"You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witness in all Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
At the core of the Good News of Jesus is the privilege of sharing it with others.
At Meadow Springs, our desire is to share the story and love of Jesus wherever He provides opportunity - with neighbors across the street or with people across the world. Our church family is actively engaged in sharing the true story of Jesus, both locally and globally.
One goal of our Missions Committee is to make information available monthly about an individual mission partner or organization we support through MSCC and your generous giving. If you have a heart for missions or want more information, connect with us HERE.
Wycliffe Bible Translators - Kandern, Germany
Ron & Michelle have returned to Germany after visiting their first grandchild here in the Portland area. They work with the Eurasia team of translators at Wycliffe. Ron continues his work on software program translation through FlexTrans. He is excited to welcome some new team members who are involved more in the communication and promotion areas while Ron has expanded the work of FlexTrans by teaching the program in Spanish. As the program evolves, bibles can be translated even more quickly.
Michelle has been involved with staff self-care through several conferences that keep the staff connected and refreshed.
Thank you for supporting Ron & Michelle through your generous giving.
We are sending a team to Grace Ministries in Krasang, Thailand in December. Please be praying for our team that:
In 2019, Meadow Springs became Mission Partners with Grace Ministries Foundation in Krasang, Thailand. It has been the privilege of the Missions Team to support Grace Ministries, both in prayer and financially, and to connect our congregation with the important work happening in Thailand.
Grace Ministries offers educational opportunity to some of the poorest children in Thailand. They provide room and board, uniforms, school fees and tutoring - all in loving and Christ-centered environment. They are now serving 125 children from first grade through college—many who are vulnerable to exploitation due to poverty and generational debt.
For over three years, Mike and I have been supporting a young lady living at Grace Ministries. I am both excited and nervous to join this trip, yet I feel that God has placed a desire in my heart to be a part of the team going to Thailand. This trip is so much more than just traveling—it’s about building deeper connections. I am so grateful for the opportunity God has placed before me."
If you are familiar with our journey, you know we first became aware of this ministry for the prevention of human trafficking in 2008 when our son went on a mission trip with his High School. We have supported the work in various ways since then and traveled there in January 2019 to visit the students we sponsored and spend time with the staff we know and love. We want to follow God’s direction to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly before our Lord as we reach across cultures and deepen relationships."
I’m writing with great excitement and deep humility to share an opportunity God has placed before me—and to invite you to be part of it in a meaningful way. It has been a lifelong desire of mine to be part of a short-term mission trip, and it’s clear that God has opened the door at just the right time. I am incredibly thankful and honored to step into this opportunity."
*A Note About Current Events
We are aware of the recent unrest at the Thai border and are grateful there is a tentative ceasefire. Knowing there are many events out of our control, the Missions Team will continue to monitor the situation. We trust our sovereign God to lead us with wisdom as we seek Him. Our hearts are to serve safely and faithfully, and we move forward prayerfully, holding our plans with open hands.
