WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the fully inspired word of God. By this we understand that the Holy Spirit not only inspired the thoughts of the writers, but also formulated the word structure into which the thoughts were cast, making the original documents inerrant as to fact and infallible as to truth (1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We believe in one Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having exactly the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s sin became alienated from God, acquired a sin nature, and came under the judicial sentence of death (Genesis 1:25-27; Romans 3:22-23; Ephesians 2:12).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became a man, without ceasing to be God, through the conception of the Holy Spirit and birth to the Virgin Mary, so that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross by sacrificing Himself in our place, and that our redemption is made sure to us by His resurrection from the dead (John 1:1-2; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 1:3-5).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is now in Heaven, exalted at the right hand of God where, as High Priest for His people, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor and Advocate for us (Hebrews 9:24, 7:25; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2). We believe in the premillenial return of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His kingdom reign upon the earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 20:6).
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, currently indwells all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, baptizes them into the Body of Christ and seals them until the day of redemption, and we believe that God commands every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18-20).
We believe that Salvation is the gift of God offered to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God (Ephesians 2:18-20; Titus 2:11-14). We believe that all true believers once saved shall be kept saved forever (Romans 8:1, 38, 39; John 10:27-30; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8).
We believe that the Church is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons in this age regardless of their affiliation with Christian organizations (Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14).
We believe that the condition and retribution of the lost and the salvation and blessedness of the saved are conscious and everlasting (Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:15, 22:3-5, 11).

OUR HISTORY
in the beginning...
Meadow Springs Community Church was brought to life in 1994 by Jerry & Brenda Beres as a step of faith and an answer to a call in their lives after a long tenure as youth pastors. The first "will anybody even show up?" service was on February 5, 1995, in the Tigard High School cafeteria. Nearly 300 people attended that first service and for many months, faithful crews of volunteers made those Sunday mornings a wonderful time of fellowship and growth!
God continued to be faithful and so gracious! Our first two ministry buildings and office locations were given to us by congregations that had recently closed the doors to their own ministry and felt God's leading in this direction.
We moved into our current building in December of 1999 and for 25+ years, we have enjoyed wonderful spiritual growth and fellowship. Meadow Springs recently celebrated it's 30th anniversary of faithful ministry in February 2025. We look forward to the next 30 years of living the adventure of following Jesus!
